The Mohapatras moved to Washington DC metro area in 1996(?) for retirement and were very closely associated with the Odia community in North America. She was living in Virginia area (115 E. Jefferson Street, Falls Church, VA 22046) with their daughter Simani, Jeff Price (son-in-law) and family.  Jeff has been a religious person and as a volunteer who year after year for so man years has been constructing the Hindu Jagannath, Bhalabhadra and Subhadra Charrioit, never missing a year ever.

Professor Mohapatra to North America, as a first wave of Odia migrants, was characterized as a Odia Path Finder which was the back bone of today’s Odia population in North America which is a visible community now and we really cherris his legacy.

Family members are working on funeral arrangements.

Anybody has a picture to post??
